Red Wilendure Christmas Folkart Selvedge Novelty Vintage Printed Tablecloth (55 X 52)
This is a great primary tablecloth in nice condition. The color is a deeper red than it looks in the pictures, more of a blue blood red. Wilendur added the e in 1958 and there are four common styles. The first is the array style, the most common Wilendur style. The second is border, where the pattern goes all the way around. Arc style has an arc at each end of the cloth when rectangular but looks like a border cloth when square. This is the fourth type that I call selvedge. The pattern runs along the edges and may have a plain or patterned center.
This pretty cloth has just a mild fade to report. It has two wide hems which I've seen before on these selvedge cloths. It could be that the owner bought a length and hemmed, or it could be factory hemmed. They are well done and I've seen this consistent hem several times.
- Dye Condition: gently faded only noticeable in the blue. The red is bold and a wonderful blue red.
