Thankful to be alive, thankful for my friends!

Thankful to be alive, thankful for my friends!

Many of you have read about my emergency hospital stay and sent wonderful emails. Thank you! My doctor said if I wasn't as young or fit as I am things would have ended differently. I need to go back for another colonoscopy and a karate friend has put me in touch with one of the top GI doctors in Boston. So thankful!

I am back on my feet and plan to add more tablecloths this week, likely Friday. My office is busting out with tablecloths everywhere! Stay tuned! As always I will send out an email once the update is done plus post it to my Facebook page. You can sign up for my emails on the main page. I promise I will never sell or giveaway your information and I almost never send out more than one email a week.

One of the many disappointments last week was that I didn't get to see the baby cardinal leave the nest! This is the last clear picture I have of the little guy (or girl). Hopefully he'll be dropping by soon for a visit.

All the best! Karen

Finally some sunshine!

After what seemed like weeks of cloudy and rainy weather we finally have some sun! I am working on an update for later this week but will be adding value cloths as I go.

Marissa's graduation is Friday. Hopefully the coming rain will hold off until then. Unfortunately she now has a horrible cold for senior week.

The cardinal is now hunkered down on her nest.

Tablecloth Resources

I just had a nice email from a new collector asking about reference books I recommend. These are the books I have and use regularly:

The two books that are the best source for general information are Colorful Tablecloths by Barineau and Henderson. The second, older book is Collector's Guide to Vintage Tablecloths by Glasell.

If you're interested in collecting souvenir tablecloths, there's Souvenir Linens by Glasell.

If you're interested in Wilendurs, then Elegant Table Linens from Wiel and Durrse by Hayes.

All of the ladies I've just mentioned were founding members (with me) of the Vintage Tablecloth Lover's Club. I'm not very active there any more (I don't have time) but it has a member board where you can post questions. There are also collector's groups popping up on Facebook.

Clouds and cardinals

Clouds and cardinals

Good Wednesday morning! I'm hoping for a break in the clouds because I have 25 or so tablecloths written up and just waiting for pictures.

Meanwhile I am sitting in my office thinking about how much I love Spring! There is a pair of young cardinals building a nest in the Weigela bush outside my office window. I could actually reach out from my chair and touch them!

First sale went through without a hitch!

I processed my first sale today with no issues. I am gaining confidence in the new site. Tonight we will be working on Packing Slips and making it easier to find your account and wish list.

Thank you for all the supportive emails today :o)
