Mod Fall Dutch MWT Vintage Tablecloth OK, ok, this is another pure rayon tablecloth. New in the original package, although I am taking it out because plastic bags are AWFUL for tablecloths. The manufacturer is Penneys Fashion Manor and it comes with the original paper label although it is not attached, it was loose in the bag. There is one light gray line as pictured. Pride of Flanders Laurel MWT Vintage Tablecloth I have never seen this particular Pride of Flanders tablecloth before. It has olivey tones which suggest to me that it may be a later pattern. It bears laurel leaves in a border around the tablecloth. Bay leaves come from the bay laurel plant. They are used in cooking and symbolize prosperity, maybe because historically only rich people could afford herbs to cover the taste of old meat. It is said to symbolize the resurrection of Christ, which makes it appropriate for Easter, although I think it would be lovely any time of the year. Because bay is used in Meditteranean cooking, it would be a nice centerpiece for a Tuscan style kitchen. Sorry about the bad pictures! The tablecloth is more rich in person. The original paper label is present with the pattern name Laurel. Printed on that wonderful Pride of Flanders linen. Very slight age staining along the edge by the label. P of F Yellow Lilacs Butterflies MWT Vintage Tablecloth Pride of Flanders is the line from Weil and Durrse that produced the linen tablecloths. Many times the linen patterns were the same as the cotton ones produced as Wilendurs. This one has yellow lilacs and butterflies, I suspect it is a 1960s era pattern. The paper label lists the pattern name as Lilac. This is the style I call Arc where the pattern runs in an arc along the shorter ends of the tablecloth. There are a couple of gray marks as pictured. I cant decide whether they are pencil or woven into the fabric. I looked in Barineau and Hendersen and they say the name has been in use since 1963 but I am sure this tablecloth is much older than that. It is a nice heavier weight cotton rayon blend. I would guess maybe late 30s for the design. It has one pinhole thanks to a fabric flaw outside the border as pictured. One tiny light blue mark in the center area. The more I look at this tablecloth, the more I wonder if it has been washed and the tag reattached. It is very smooth but maybe that was from a mangle? It's a 60s or later tablecloth which means it's machine washable and dryable and permanent press. It has an unusual slippery finish which I've felt on other Christmas tablecloths. According to another tablecloth label, it's called modularized rayon. There are four napkins which have a pretty red overlock edge to match the tablecloth. The only thing to say about this tablecloth is it has a smell to it. Probably from being sealed up in a bag for its whole life. Some Wilendurs but a large portion of them were either Prints Charming or Prints-es. It depends how long I feel the need to pet them before I sell them. Morning Glory Trellis Vintage Tablecloth Rely on Prints Charming to make some slightly wacky floral patterns. The name of this pattern is Trellis. It has taupe and blue plaid with a center of blue, green and red morning glories. It still has the original paper label.
