Blue Kitchen Pantry MWT Vintage Tablecloth This is so cool! I'm used to seeing these kitschy kitchen shelf tablecloths in red. This is one of the first I've had in blue. It's a nice dusty steel blue too, not garish, just nice. It's a little brighter than it looks in my pictures. The name on the label is Dinette, which is odd because Yvonne Barineau and Erin Henderson show it in Colorful Tablecloths with a different name. Shown on page 109, theirs is tagged Conversational. Rare Tillet Roosters MWT Vintage Tablecloth Wow! This tablecloth is amazing! I have only seen it a few times and never owned it. This one has the original tag and shows it was designed by D.D. and Leslie Tillett. The Tilletts were world renouned artists and textile designers who created a line of tablecloths for Quality Linen (a Leacock Company) called Brush Prints. This one showing fighting roosters is amazing and bright. Part of their lives were spent in Mexico and perhaps this design is based on that experience. It also came with a big gray mark like a footprint and some pretty severe storage staining. I soaked the tablecloth and the storage staining is gone. The gray mark faded significantly but is still visible on the drop. There is a small dye fault on the drop opposite the gray mark. Still, a great design with nice bright colors. Leacock CORNWALL MWT and Napkins Vintage Tablecloth This Leacock Quality Prints tablecloth is called Cornwall. This pattern is similar to a pattern from the Kate Greenaway limited series produced in 1946. On page 14 of Colorful Tablecloths Threads of the Past by Yvonne Barineau and Erin Hendersen, they say this is circa 1940, before the KG series. It is also cotton rather than the spun rayon of the KG series. Leacock is one of my favorite manufacturers. Their cloths are very sweet. This set has a some staining in two places along one edge plus a few small age spots which are not distracting and may soak out. The napkins have simple tan bands. The Queen Anne cloths are highly sought after by some collectors because they made such pretty cloths! The label lists the pattern name as Petunia which is a mystery to me because the flowers look more like cherry blossoms. Extremely minimal age staining with one smudgy spot by an edge as pictured. Some tiny dye spatters around the printing plus some minor offsets as happens with these handprinted cloths. Has very light typing along one selvedge which reads Indian Head. It is not obvious. Large Fruit Flowers MWT Vintage Tablecloth It is unusual to run across a tablecloth like this in the larger size. Most of the larger sized cloths are 60s era. This one is earlier. It has the paper label from Queen Anne with the pattern name Fruit and Flowers. The pattern is exquisite, the colors divine! Unfortunately it has a spill by the label as pictured. Many of these spills were gravy when food was put out on a buffet above the linen drawers. I am hopeful that this will come out. There is also some fairly deep age staining nearby on a couple of the folds. I think the tablecloth is so gorgeous, it will be worth the effort to get it clean. Pink Roses on Blue MWT Vintage Tablecloth One of my favorite tablecloths! I even have a cutter version hanging in a window of my office. It has the original paper label from Richglow with the pattern name American Beauties. The blue is a wonderful french blue, the roses light and deep pink. There is dimensionality to the green leaves, but it is obviously an early print because it is a little loose, not as precise as later multicolored prints. There is some light dirt to the face with the label. There is one little visible fabric slub as pictured. Rosemary ASTER MWT Vintage Tablecloth This very pretty tablecloth was made by Rosemary Manufacturing. It has wonderful blue asters inside a frame of salmon pink with maybe lilies of the valley tied with bows in each corner. It is a nice off-white textured cotton. There is some light age staining to the tablecloth as I tried to show in a picture. I've had really good luck with this age staining coming out with a mild Oxyclean soak.
