Hand Printed Fruit Vintage Tablecloth Adorable fruit cloth! Another one of my favorite patterns (yeah, I know). The loose printing points to an earlier date when hand printing was common. The pattern looks perfect from a distance, but close up you can see that nothing lines up perfectly. How cool is that? Printed on sheeting cotton. I love the way the red and pink sit beside each other. Just so sweet! Mod Yellow Vegetables Vintage Tablecloth I love this pattern! It reminds me of Hornsea Pottery and other things from my childhood so I am thinking 60s. It is not perfect but would be great for a daily use cloth. There are three small holes. Two within the pattern and one outside the border. There are some scattered tiny spots and the faint memory of a yellow stain that faded a lot when the tablecloth was soaked. Gray Fruit and Floral Vintage Tablecloth This tablecloth was unwashed when I got it but it was dirty, including a fair number of black cat hairs. I soaked it and managed to get most of the fur off, there may be a very few stray hairs left. There is a series of small light blue spots near the outer border which are hard to see on the table. There are also a couple of light gray marks as pictured. One corner is not properly stitched as shown. Blue Fruit Baskets Vintage Tablecloth What a beauty! I love the pretty blue fruit baskets in each corner. The fabric is a heavier weight cotton, just wonderful. Again, its not perfect. There is a small hole in one corner. There is a rust stain in the handle of one basket and a largish gray mark below the same basket. While folding I found a pinhole or broken thread just inside one of the side fruit bunches. Pink Magenta Fruit NWT Vintage Tablecloth This fruit cloth is extraordinarily pretty! An early handprinted cloth, it bears the hallmarks of those earlier cloths. A slight unevenness to the deep solid colors. Some dye spray here and there on the blank part of the tablecloth. Overdying where one color is placed over another to create depth. Bears the original paper label from Tru Art. Also has an original price tag from Kresges stapled to the tablecloth. The price was $1.39! There is some light age staining throughout the cloth. I would be wary of soaking this in Oxy because of the earlier dyes. Primary Fruit Ribbons Vintage Tablecloth Love this tablecloth! I would guess early to mid 40s based on the sheeting weight cotton (diverted to the war effort) and the overdying to create dimension. Like many sheeting cloths, it has a few pinholes, one in the center area. These sheeting cloths need gentle handing, particularly when wet. The cloth was washed in the week I was having problems with my washing machine and it feels like it has some detergent residue. It should probably be rinsed again. It has some light yellow staining that is hard to see on the table. OVAL Fall Fruit Unused Vintage Tablecloth The background is a light yellow, not white and is best shown in the whole tablecloth picture. This tablecloth came in the original plastic bag with the paper label. It has a bit of a smell from being in the bag for so long. It is supposed to be 67 inches round but it isnt that big, nor is it really round because the measurement in one direction is four inches shorter than the perpendicular. It is a later tablecloth than most vintage cloths. The printing is a little more rustic, the fabric not as thick. Round vintage tablecloths can be hard to come by because round tables became popular towards the end of the vintage tablecloth era, sometime during the 60s. Avocado Green Fruit MWT Vintage Tablecloth This tablecloth is unlike anything I have ever seen! I suspect a 60s date. It is a SunGlo cloth and has the paper label with the pattern name Sun Berry. I am not really sure why. LOL! I guess it does really have strawberries in there with the apples and pears. It has a matching overlocked edging. The color is deeper than it looks in the close-ups and is best seen in the whole tablecloth picture. It has red pictures and coffee pots and cups on the outside, little red dishes on the inside. I think this is a 1930s print and I only remember seeing it a couple of times. The background is an oatmeal color. There is a light but largish stain by a corner as pictured. Across on the other drop there are a couple of other areas of light staining that are not obvious. Damaged but HTF Picnic Vintage Tablecloth Another from my own collection. The colors are still bright but there are quite a few holes. It is a rayon tablecloth so I suspect an English source. Pretty Fruit Basket Vintage Tablecloth Another from my own collection, I think it is a Broderie from the look of the fruit. It is truly a wonderful pattern and I have enjoyed it for a very long time. Pretty colors of pink, magenta and what I think is a jadite green on an off white cotton. There is one half inch hole in an outside fruit basket as shown. It would be worth mending the hole to use this beautiful tablecloth.
